The lanes toward Stone-in-Oxney and across the Rother Levels flood and pothole with grim reliability, and the B2080 Appledore Road spends half its life dug up for one utility or another. It is beautiful, genuinely — but it is also the sort of place where a flat tyre on a verge near Rolvenden means you are properly stuck, because the nearest garage might be several miles of blind bends away, and the recovery driver is stuck behind the same tractor you were. This is exactly the terrain a mobile mechanic was invented for.

Rural Tenterden has plenty of charm and not many garages, so when something fails at Appledore or on a lane near Stone-in-Oxney, your options thin out fast.
