Mobile ECU remapping

MINI Cooper,
woken right up.

The MINI was built to grin its way through corners like a go-kart with a number plate, from Cooper S to a full-fat JCW. We bring genuine tools to your driveway, turn the fun dial up where BMW left it modest, and stash your original map so the whole thing stays reversible.

Typical Stage 1–2 gains — up to

+79

bhp

+60

Nm torque

Estimated peak gain across Cooper engines. Your car's figures depend on spec, year, fuel & condition — we quote honest numbers, never fantasy dyno bragging.

So, what's in it for your Cooper?

The whole point of a MINI is the go-kart grin, and yet the factory still leaves some of it in the box. One engine map has to keep every market, fuel and emissions regime happy, so your Cooper ships detuned with headroom deliberately held back. That's the bit we hand over.

On the Cooper S turbo petrol and the JCW that means real, giggle-inducing power and sharper pace — the extra bite that makes the go-kart feel even more like one. The Cooper D and SD diesels get a proper wave of mid-range torque, effortless in-gear shove and often a bit more MPG if you behave. R56 or F56, it takes to a remap like it was waiting for one.

We come to you with genuine dealer-level tools and a stable power supply, because flashing an ECU on a dodgy battery is a fast way to ruin a good afternoon. Your original file is backed up first, so it's fully reversible. DPF, EGR and AdBlue stay intact and road-legal. Every MINI's a little different by year, spec, fuel and condition, so we give you a straight estimate for yours — no invented dyno heroics, just the fun that was already in there.

The numbers (the fun part)

Standard vs remapped, per engine. Bars are scaled to peak bhp — the red is what you've been missing.

Cooper D (1.6/2.0 diesel)

+34 bhp+60 Nm
Standard≈ 110–116 bhp / 260–270 Nm
Stage 1 (est.)≈ 140–150 bhp / ≈ 310–330 Nm

Cooper SD (2.0 diesel)

+25 bhp+60 Nm
Standard≈ 143–170 bhp / 305–360 Nm
Stage 1 (est.)≈ 180–195 bhp / ≈ 390–420 Nm

Cooper S (R56 1.6T)

+66 bhp
Standard≈ 184 bhp / 240 Nm
Stage 2 (est.)≈ 235–250 bhp with hardware

Stage 1: ≈ 210–225 bhp / ≈ 290–320 Nm · Stage 2 shown (needs supporting hardware)

Cooper S (F56 2.0T)

+68 bhp
Standard≈ 192 bhp / 280 Nm
Stage 2 (est.)≈ 260+ bhp with hardware

Stage 1: ≈ 225–240 bhp / ≈ 340–370 Nm · Stage 2 shown (needs supporting hardware)

John Cooper Works (JCW 2.0T)

+79 bhp
Standard≈ 228–231 bhp / 320 Nm
Stage 2 (est.)≈ 290–310 bhp with hardware

Stage 1: ≈ 260–280 bhp / ≈ 380–410 Nm · Stage 2 shown (needs supporting hardware)

Typical estimates for a healthy vehicle. Stage 2 needs supporting hardware (intake/exhaust/intercooler) — we'll only suggest it if your car's up for it.

The small print (yeah, yeah): always tell your insurer about a remap — it's a mod, and "forgetting" can sink a claim. If your Cooper is still under manufacturer warranty, a remap can affect powertrain cover, so weigh it up first. We keep your original file backed up either way.

Questions you're about to ask

Which MINI models do you remap?

We cover the turbo range across R56 and F56 — the petrol Cooper S, the diesel Cooper D and SD, and the JCW. The turbo petrols (Cooper S and JCW) respond especially well, and the diesels gain a big lift in everyday torque.

Can you do Stage 2 on a Cooper S or JCW?

Yes. Stage 1 gives a solid gain on the standard car, and Stage 2 comes into play once you've fitted supporting hardware like an upgraded intake, exhaust or intercooler. We'll advise honestly on what your specific car needs to do it safely.

Is the remap reversible, MOT-friendly, and do I tell insurance?

Yes on all three. We back up your original factory file so the MINI can be returned to standard at any time, our maps keep the DPF, EGR and emissions hardware intact and road-legal, and you should declare the remap to your insurer to keep your policy valid.
