Mobile ECU remapping

BMW 1 Series,
woken right up.

Whether you've got a sensible 118d or a rowdy M140i with a straight-six that sings, the 1 Series always had a bit more to give. We bring dealer-level equipment to your driveway, sharpen the whole thing up, and back up your original file before we touch a thing.

Typical Stage 1–2 gains — up to

Estimated peak gain across 1 Series engines. Your car's figures depend on spec, year, fuel & condition — we quote honest numbers, never fantasy dyno bragging.

So, what's in it for your 1 Series?

The 1 Series hides two very different tuning stories, and BMW undersells both. The 118d and 120d diesels leave the factory detuned for global fuel and service realities, sitting on a stack of unused mid-range torque. The M135i's N55 and the M140i's B58 petrols? Those are two of the most tuneable straight-six turbos going, and they arrive with plenty in reserve.

On the diesels, the remap wakes up that low-down torque — cleaner pull, easier overtakes, and often a little MPG back if you're gentle with it. On the M135i and M140i we're talking real, feelable power and pace, and if you've added supporting hardware we can go Stage 2 and make proper use of it. Either way it's about unlocking what the engine can genuinely do, mapped to be reliable rather than reckless — quick where you want it, sensible where it counts.

We come to you with genuine dealer-level tools on a stable power supply, so nothing gets scrambled mid-flash. Your original file is backed up first, so it's fully reversible whenever you fancy stock again. DPF, EGR, AdBlue and the rest of the emissions kit are left intact and road-legal. Gains vary by year, spec, fuel, hardware and condition, so we'll give you a straight estimate for your car — not a fantasy figure lifted from someone's highlight reel.

The numbers (the fun part)

Standard vs remapped, per engine. Bars are scaled to peak bhp — the red is what you've been missing.

+40 bhp+80 Nm
Standard≈ 150 bhp / 320 Nm
Stage 1 (est.)≈ 180–190 bhp / ≈ 380–400 Nm

120d (2.0d, ~190 bhp)

+45 bhp+80 Nm
Standard≈ 190 bhp / 400 Nm
Stage 1 (est.)≈ 220–235 bhp / ≈ 460–480 Nm

M135i (3.0t, N55)

+104 bhp
Standard≈ 326 bhp / 450 Nm
Stage 2 (est.)≈ 410–430 bhp with hardware

M140i (3.0t, B58)

+120 bhp
Standard≈ 340 bhp / 500 Nm
Stage 2 (est.)≈ 430–460 bhp with hardware

Stage 1: ≈ 400–420 bhp / ≈ 600 Nm · Stage 2 shown (needs supporting hardware)

Typical estimates for a healthy vehicle. Stage 2 needs supporting hardware (intake/exhaust/intercooler) — we'll only suggest it if your car's up for it.

The small print (yeah, yeah): always tell your insurer about a remap — it's a mod, and "forgetting" can sink a claim. If your 1 Series is still under manufacturer warranty, a remap can affect powertrain cover, so weigh it up first. We keep your original file backed up either way.

Questions you're about to ask

Can you really remap my 1 Series at my house?

Yes — that's the whole point of SOSCarFix. We arrive with genuine dealer-level tools and a stable power supply, read your ECU, back up the original file and flash your new map on your driveway or at work. Most cars are done in around an hour.

Is the remap reversible?

Completely. We always save your factory file before writing anything, so we can return the car to standard whenever you want — handy at trade-in or if you fancy going back.

Do I need to tell my insurer?

Yes. A remap is a modification and you must declare it to your insurer. It's usually a small adjustment and keeps everything above board — driving on an undeclared modification can invalidate a claim.

Which 1 Series gains the most?

The petrols punch hardest — the M135i (N55) and M140i (B58) give up big, reliable numbers on Stage 1 and take Stage 2 well with supporting hardware. The 120d is the diesel sweet spot for torque and everyday drivability.
