Launch Control & Anti-Lag

Off-road, export & motorsport vehicles only

Consistent, repeatable standing starts and a turbo that stays on the boil between shifts — that's competition territory. Launch control and anti-lag are proper motorsport tools, and we set them up for track and drag use.

Dealer-level tools Original file backed up Mobile — we come to you

Track & off-road only. The noise and speed rules still apply out on the road — keeping it legal is on you, and it can void a manufacturer warranty. We build it, you behave.

What it is

Launch control holds the engine at a preset launch RPM when you're stationary and flat on the throttle, so you can drop the clutch (or release the brake) and get a consistent, repeatable standing start every time — no guesswork with the rev needle. Anti-lag keeps the turbocharger spooled up between gearchanges and when you're off the throttle, so boost is there the instant you get back on the power. Anti-lag in particular is aggressive, motorsport-grade stuff.

Who it's for

This is for drag, track and motorsport cars where a repeatable launch and instant boost genuinely win you time. Launch control takes the human error out of standing starts, and anti-lag keeps a laggy turbo responsive through a stage or a lap. Both make serious demands on the car, so they suit vehicles with a suitably strong clutch, gearbox and drivetrain to cope with the loads. It's competition kit, plain and simple.

How we do it

We configure launch control and anti-lag in software with dealer-level tools, flashing from a stable, healthy power supply so the ECU write is never compromised. Your original file is backed up first, so everything is reversible. We set the launch RPM and anti-lag behaviour sensibly for your car and its drivetrain rather than dialling in the most violent settings possible — the goal is a usable competition tool, not needless self-destruction. We'll be straight with you about whether your clutch and drivetrain are up to it.

Out on the road (yeah, behave)

This is motorsport and track kit, not a road toy. Anti-lag is genuinely hard on the turbo and exhaust — it works by keeping combustion happening where it normally wouldn't, which means serious heat — and it's designed for competition use. Hard launches load up the clutch, gearbox, driveshafts and diff every single time. So this is for off-road, track and motorsport use, and you should declare the modifications to your insurer.

Launch Control — the questions

Is launch control and anti-lag suitable for road use?

Not really. This is competition kit. Anti-lag is hard on the turbo and exhaust because of the heat it generates, and repeated hard launches stress the whole drivetrain. It's designed for drag, track and motorsport use, not the daily commute, and any mods should be declared to your insurer.

Will it wear out my clutch and gearbox?

Hard launches put big, repeated loads through the clutch, gearbox, driveshafts and diff, so a car that isn't built for it will wear faster or break. That's why launch control really suits vehicles with a suitably strong drivetrain. We'll give you an honest view on whether your setup can take it.

Does anti-lag damage the turbo?

Anti-lag deliberately keeps the turbo spooled by generating combustion and heat in places that normally stay cooler, so it does accelerate wear on the turbo and exhaust. It's accepted in motorsport as a trade-off for performance. We set it sensibly, but it remains competition-use hardware for a reason.

Will this work on any car?

It depends on the engine, ECU and — just as importantly — the strength of your drivetrain. Many turbocharged cars can run launch control and anti-lag in software, but the mechanical side has to be able to cope. Send us your car's details and intended use and we'll advise honestly.
